A delegation of senior

The DGI delegation visited
a variety of areas of Scotland including Aberdeenshire, to learn more about the
organisation of sport at a local level and to discuss the possible development
of exchange links.
At the request of the
Scottish Association of Local Sports Councils (SALSC), Aberdeenshire Sports
Council hosted two DGI reps, Bodil
Pederson & Brita Uldum for a three day visit, arriving Thursday evening and
leaving Sunday morning.

The ladies had
a very busy schedule arranged by Mike Seed, Administrator and Jim Conn,
Chairman. This included a programme
of visits to some of the clubs and facilities in the area – Deveron Gym Club
in Banff, Garioch Gym Club in Inverurie, Garioch Sports Centre in Inverurie,
Ellon Meadows Sports Centre, and Princess Royal Sports and Community
Trust/Princess Royal Park where the ladies were guests of Deveronvale FC. For a
cup game against Keith. In addition some sightseeing to Pennan, Gardenstown,
Fyvie Castle and Pitmedden Gardens was included as well as an evening meal with
Aberdeenshire Sports Council reps and a Ceilidh!
An exhausting programme but one which the guests thoroughly enjoyed. They were
most impressed with Aberdeenshire and had fantastic weather during their stay
which helped!

The
ladies were keen to hear of any sports clubs in Aberdeenshire who may be
interested in exchanges/twinning with similar clubs in Denmark. Contact Mike
Seed on 01261 813383 if your club or organisation is interested. Aberdeenshire
Sports Council should be able to offer some grant aid support.
